Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate
The Arch represents UGA’s time-honored traditions and the boundary between campus and the professional world. At the UGA Career Center, we want to equip students to succeed in their career development journey of choosing a major, building relationships with employers, applying to graduate school, and much more. Being “Arch Ready” means being prepared for life after graduation. To support the professional development of UGA students, the Career Center offers an “Arch Ready Certificate” program each semester. Obtaining the certificate is easy!
Handshake
Handshake, UGA’s job and internship platform, connects students to thousands of jobs, internships, employers, and events using simple and powerful search tools and alerts. All incoming UGA students will have a Handshake account created for them following their first drop/add period. Thus, they do not need to create their own account.
Experiential Learning
Experiential learning gives students hands-on opportunities to connect their academic foundations to the world beyond the classroom, through creative endeavors, study abroad and field schools, internship and leadership opportunities, faculty-mentored research, and service-learning. All undergraduate students are required to complete at least one experiential learning activity before graduation. Our faculty have identified courses and other activities that will fulfill the requirement for students in each school and college. Your advisor will help you find the right experiential learning opportunities for you.
Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO)
Engagement, Leadership, and Service
The department of Engagement, Leadership, and Service (ELS) seeks to deliver programs, services, events, and significant learning experiences which strengthen students’ connection to the University, cultivate a sense of community, and empower students to be engaged and contributing leaders.
ELS believes student engagement is a pivotal part of an enriched collegiate experience. With ELS, students can join student organizations, participate in and lead service opportunities, engage with leadership trainings and content, coordinate and attend multiple events on campus, and so much more.
