Engagement, Leadership, and Service

The department of Engagement, Leadership, and Service (ELS) seeks to deliver programs, services, events, and significant learning experiences which strengthen students’ connection to the University, cultivate a sense of community, and empower students to be engaged and contributing leaders.

ELS believes student engagement is a pivotal part of an enriched collegiate experience. With ELS, students can join student organizations, participate in and lead service opportunities, engage with leadership trainings and content, coordinate and attend multiple events on campus, and so much more.

Engagement

ELS Engagement helps you get plugged into student organizations at UGA through the Involvement Network and ELS Peer Leaders. They also provide resources to help support student orgs.

Community Engagement

ELS Community Engagement helps you support the communities you live in through direct volunteer service, advocacy, and leading others to create positive change.

Leadership

ELS Leadership empowers you as a leader through programs such as the annual Student Leadership Conference, Leadership UGA, and leadership coaching.

Student Activities

ELS Activities advises the University Union student Programming Board and Homecoming Committee student organizations and hosts special events and programs throughout the year.

The University Religious Life Association offers a variety of programs for encouragement, fellowship, spiritual formation, and personal support while you study at UGA.

Graduate & Professional Scholars (GAPS)

GAPS is an organization whose purpose is to utilize the collective resources available to the organization for the creation and maintenance of an academic environment that is conducive to the successful matriculation of historically underrepresented graduate and professional students through the University of Georgia

Graduate Student Association (GSA)

GSA is the primary political and social organization for graduate students. The Graduate Student Council is a mutli-purpose organization focused on advocating, connecting, and empowering graduate students.

Greek Life recruitment is a great way to meet new people and find a home away from home at UGA.

International Student Life enhances international awareness for both U.S. and international students through innovative programs and nearly 30 student organizations, as well as offers services to international students including orientation, non-resident tax assistance, and cultural programming.

University Housing works with on-campus partners to integrate academics into the residence halls, resulting in a unique first-year experience.

MSP works to create an inclusive campus environment by supporting the development and affirming the overall experiences of all students, particularly multicultural students.

Office of Institutional Diversity

The Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) creates a nurturing and inclusive environment by offering a variety of community-building opportunities for both prospective and current students.

Pride Center

The Pride Center fosters an inclusive, informed community for LGBTQIA+ individuals through collaboration, education, and advocacy.

Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC)

The SVRC serves as a central location for information about the University’s services for student veterans while also offering support, advocacy, and a convenient location for student veterans to gather throughout the day.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) of the University of Georgia is the organized voice for each student of the University of Georgia. SGA strives to protect students’ rights and to advocate on behalf of the students’ welfare in the University community. The organization also serves as a liaison between students and the administrative bodies on campus.

University Union strives to provide The University of Georgia campus community with an array of cultural, educational, social, and entertainment programs and events with the intention to enhance the quality of life at the institution.
