Why should you apply to be on Dawg Camp Staff?
Dawg Camp Staff Members are a group of UGA students who come from various backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are searching for students like YOU to share your story and to help guide and support a group of incoming students during their transition to the University of Georgia.
You may be asking “what does it take to be a Dawg Camp counselor?”
To which we would answer, there is no perfect formula for what it takes to be a Dawg Camp counselor. We are looking for counselors who are willing to show up, be authentic, and who are prepared to learn and grow alongside 50 other incredible UGA students and are ready to welcome #UGA29 to the Bulldog Family.
Dawg Camp Programs
Special Programs | Classic City, Connect, Adventure + Innovate Counselors serve as a counselor for students during Dawg Camp Special Programs. These are camps focused around a niche population or interest group that serve 20-36 incoming students. Each of the Special Programs has its own focus ranging from the great outdoors to Athens immersion. In addition to serving as a Special Programs counselor, these staff members serve as the logistics Crew for Dawg Camp Discovery at the end of July.
Discovery | Dawg Camp Discovery is UGA’s flagship spirit and traditions camp. Students engage in friendly spirit competitions while gaining valuable self-discovery and transition skills for their first year. The program is a three-day weekend experience at the end of July.
Dawg Camp Commitment
Please keep in mind that Dawg Camp is a commitment. There are certain dates and tasks that will be required of all counselors between Fall 2024 and Fall 2025. You can find this inside the application and you may also download them below.
