3RD YEAR
As you make your way toward graduation, it's time to hunker down.
DEVELOP and implement your plans to achieve your goals!
Junior year is the time to re-energize and build momentum for senior year. This pathway is designed to help you navigate your third year at UGA.
You may know all the ins and outs of UGA by the time you get to your third year, but we have still pulled together a list of things together that will help you keep your momentum throughout your third year.
SUPPORT IN THE THIRD YEAR
If you find yourself questioning your major and career path, do not worry – you are not alone! Many students find themselves feeling this way as they dive deeper into their studies and start thinking about the future. Remember, it is okay to reassess and explore new interests. Here are some resources to help:
- Check out the Career Center’s resources for exploring majors and careers.
- Meet with an advisor in the Exploratory Center. They are specially trained to help you identify a major that aligns with your interests and skills.
As a third year, you are likely beginning your upper division coursework for your major. We encourage you to utilize the Office of Student Success and Achievement’s resources to stay on top of your studies.
Experiencing changes in friendships is a common part of the college journey. It’s okay to feel disconnected and to seek new connections.
Here are some ways to find support and build new friendships:
- Join a new student organization that interests you. The Involvement Network if your go-to hub for exploring student organizations. You are also always welcome at the Engagement Fairs hosted at the beginning of fall and spring semesters.
- Attend events on campus and in the Athens community. Quick links to calendars can be found HERE in the Transition Guide.
- Check out the free digital well-being resources such as Nod and Togetherall for strategies and opportunities for connecting with peers.
Employers and graduate & professional school admissions committees are looking for potential employees and students who have had a well-rounded experience in college.
